However, if the main stamp is on the handbag, the date code is usually in the pocket on a smaller leather tag.
How to Read Dior's Date Codes

In a Dior date code, the 2 letters indicate country of production. MA and BO is Italy, MC is Spain etc.
The last 4 digits indicate the month and the year when the bag was made. The first and third number indicate the month of manufacturing, the second and fourth number indicate the year.
In the example above, 01-BO-1114 means the bag was made in November of 2014 in Italy.
On vintage Dior handbags, the order is slightly different. The letters and digits are separated by a space and the date code is shorter as it omits the first two digits:

Where are Dior handbags made?
Dior has manufactured handbags in the following countries: Italy, Spain, or France (for vintage bags before 1990).

Vintage handbags made in France did not come with serial numbers.

The production country of these handbags were often indicated on a gold-tone metallic plate located inside or outside the handbag.

'Made in France' can also be stamped into leather. It looks like a regular Christian Dior stamp with the exception of the date code.

There are also vintage handbags that have a 'PARIS, NEW YORK' inscription.
Christian Dior stopped making handbags in France in 1990. So bags created in 1990 or after should only have been made in Italy or Spain.

You will find “Christian Dior” with “PARIS” in capital letters inscribed on the tag inside the bag.

For some purses, “MADE IN ITALY” or “MADE IN SPAIN” can be found on the front side of the tag, also in capital letters.

Depending on the model, the “Made in” stamp can be found on the back side of the tag, above the date code.

The stamp should be located perfectly in the middle and in either gold, silver or colourless.
